Israeli start-up cVidya Networks Inc., a developer of revenue assurance solutions for the telecommunications sector announced yesterday that the German telecommunications company, freenet.de AG, has selected cVidya Networks' revenue assurance solution, Money Map. The deal is reportedly worth $400,000.

Town eyes 'emergency' communications tower

TEWKSBURY -- The town wants to build a 90-foot-high "emergency communications tower" on Ames Hill, just three months after Town Meeting instituted a one-year moratorium on the construction of new wireless communications facilities.

Town officials argue that the Ames Hill tower, which would serve the Fire Department and other town departments, does not fall under the moratorium because it would not be for commercial use.

Town eyes 'emergency'


Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) subsidiary Tadiran Communications Ltd. (TASE: TDCM) published its financial report for the second quarter of 2006 today. The company posted $63.3 million revenue, 11 percent less than the $71.2 million posted in the corresponding quarter of 2005.

Tadiran Communications posted a net profit of $10.9 million for the second quarter, 17.2 percent of sales, compared with $12.1 million for the corresponding quarter of last year. The company posted a gross profit of $27.5 million for the second quarter, compared with $36.9 million for the corresponding quarter, and it posted an operating profit of $8.6 million for the second quarter, compared with $15 million for the corresponding quarter.
